The Joy of Donuts
Guest Blogger Adam Wade is a self-described donut junkie. We first noticed him tweeting away about his daily donuts. After a few days, it seemed like more than just a habit... it was an obsession. So, we asked him to tell us about it.
"As a thirty-three year old, unemployed, single male dealing with our current economic times, I’ve found myself eating a ton of donuts. I'm actually trying to figure out why I have this new obsession. Perhaps it’s because they are cheap and easy, and I actually feel less depressed when I eat them. As odd as this sounds, they actually force me to BALANCE my diet (guilt) and work out regularly.
It’s also led me to procrastinate on revising my resumes to instead Twitter and update my Facebook status, with up-to-the minute details of my donut odyssey.
The first twenty-three years of my life I was strictly a Dunkin Donuts man. Usually on the weekends. My standard was Chocolate Frosted and a Vanilla Crème.
I had a brief 4 year love affair with Krispy Kreme between 2000-2003. But when I moved into a new apartment in 2003, I lived blocks away from a newly opened Dunkin Donuts, I found myself returning to my first love, daily. The nostalgia I felt when I walked in, the familiar smells and tastes. I was back home to stay*!
*Though let's face facts, if you throw some free donuts in front of me all bets are off.
