The Fallen Fruit folks are hosting their 4th Annual Public Fruit Jam on August 2 in Echo Park. In a typical jam session, they make 500 jars in about 3 hours. It's a great organization and you'll meet some really cool people.

Did you know that olive oil can be as complex as wine?
Iron Chef winner Neal Fraser of Grace Restaurant and the Eastern Center for Complementary Medicine present a special olive oil education and tasting workshop with Nancy Ash, taster for the California Olive Oil Council.
They'll discuss the science of sensory assessment of olive oil, how to taste olive oil, how to identify defects in olive oil and more.
